“Musically, we wanted to make a larger-than-life rock & roll banger. After being compared to some of our favorite artists – Led Zeppelin, Soundgarden, Guns N’ Roses, among others – on our 2018 debut EP, I’ve Got Something To Say…, we dug deep into our roots and came up with ‘Blow’; a hard-hitting and dark track that is an absolute blast to perform live.”
Gerrold Harris, One In The Chamber
Mission accomplished and done well.
‘Blow’ is a stomping monster that rivals anything in their past music for general heaviness. It kicks right in, with riff building leading to the insane crashing drums and guitars that tear into the rest of the song. Close your eyes and turn to 11.
Imagine you are in a crowd of thousands of people. Page enters right, Bonham kicks right in, then Plant opens strong on vocals. It will bring you back to the 70s live Led Zeppelin feeling. It is one of their heaviest cuts to date.
Like ‘Heartbreaker,’ and ‘Whole Lotta Love’ built on a killer riffs yet like ‘Whole Lotta Love’, ‘Blow’ carries its heavy load throughout the track.
‘Blow’ is a track that sounds like a ton of solid mass is about to fall down on you. Mike Biase’s vocals are deep, haunting, resonating out of a megaphone. The song’s almost disorienting effect has a harsher and heavier sound, which will blast the stage and delight fans.
It’s Biase’s chanting vocals and the band explosion that follows, which stakes permanently the track as classic rock with a touch of heavy metal. You get the feels of that era yet with a new sound. The band has done well to create a unique sound without duplication of their musical influences.
Spill Magazine notes comparisons of One In The Chamber to the likes of Guns N’ Roses, Led Zeppelin, Velvet Revolver, Soundgarden, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Queens Of The Stone Age, and Mötley Crüe.
Seriously, this band is good.
If the studio energy is any sign of the experience seeing them live, One In The Chamber is the top one to see on a list. Superb talent.
Gerrod Harris on drums features a great drum track, and the guitar riffs maximize the song’s overall heaviness.
‘Blow’ stands as one of the band’s most powerful cuts. You can feel its density as it rattles every single bone in the body, not to mention memories of the 70s’ hard-hitting sound.
The song goes deeper than any of their other releases.
The vocals become something sinister, almost signaling an apocalypse in its most ferocious, haunting, and unyielding charge.
The band has never been heavier than they are on this cut.
One In The Chamber is Mike Biase (lead vocals, guitar), Cecil Eugene (lead guitar, backing vocals), Christian Dotto (bass), and Gerrod Harris (drums).
They came together in 2015 when singer Mike Biase and guitarist Cecil Eugene got together to start a rock band. Cecil and Gerrod went to York U to study jazz, and Cecil approached Gerrod to be the drummer. The three began jamming shortly after. Bassist, Christian Dotto is a friend of Cecil’s from highschool.
The name One In the Chamber “is a representation of taking your best shot and making the absolute most of it.
As of this June, we celebrated our 5 year anniversary since our first gig.”, Gerrod explains.
They plan a follow-up single after ‘Blow’. 2020 goals of the band are dropping new music, continue to grow and connect within the local music communities, Toronto and GTA.
Their return to traditional live shows will draw crowds, and this band is ready to rock it for fans.
