Life Coach, AKA Jamie Cameron, is a poet and musician hailing from rural Scottish Borders via Glasgow. Written during lockdown, the music of Life Coach began as a collection of poems dissecting life in a western world that is obsessed with self improvement and efficiency. A world where everyday technology is used to quantify the value of our human experience. A world where our entire sense of meaning is measured against a metric of neoliberal ideals. Citing influences such as Arab Strap, For Those I Love, Casiotone for the Painfully Alone and Meursault, Life coach is a solo project that combines spoken word with sample loops, synths, acoustic guitars and drum machines. The Life Coach debut album, Scottish Cringe, was recorded and mixed by Andrew Shepherd at Venice of the North Studios in Glasgow and mastered by Robin Sutherland at Esko Mastering, Finland, and is due to be released on GoldMold Records on June 2nd 2023.
