Def Leppard made their US live debut opening at a New York City concert for AC/DC. It was also Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott’s 21st birthday.
Their 1980 debut album “On through the Night” established Def Leppard as a respected and esteemed rock band. Def Leppard dropped on the rock music culture of the 80s with the ambition to be the best band in the world. Over the years the band advanced substantially, producing the most outstanding, written and popular collections of the 80s. “Pyromania” (1983) and “Hysteria” (1987) albums ruled the 80s, turning Def Leppard into sheer rock Gods.
Their music was extraordinary, radio-receptive and vigorous, interlaced with shiny new pop hooks and classic hard rock.
